Role
UX Designer
There are 2 major parts to this project. The intercoms which are the pieces of hardware that are installed, are communicated with, and are used by residents, managers, and staff, and the portals which allow management, admin, and dealers to communicate with hardware and detect any issues.
Throughout this project, I worked alongside a team of individuals (Product Designers, managers, and other UX designers). Although I had a hand in each piece of the puzzle, my main focus was on the portal screens. Specifically, I worked with the GateHawk branding, styling, and client-base.
One of the largest features of this project is the system page. This allows admin, managers, and dealers to see, diagnose, and take action on anything regarding their new intercoms. One of the biggest challenges with this was to make the intercom status a fun and engaging experience. I created unique intercom icons showing the different types of intercoms or the issues its experiencing.
Your intercom is healthy
These icons would populate to show the user that their intercom is operational and there are no issues.
Your intercom is unhealthy
These icons would populate to show the user that their intercom is experiencing issues.
Another part of creating an engaging experience was the sleep screen feature for the new intercoms. I was in charge of making designs and a customization user flow for properties. With these designs, they can customize the background, typography, and logo displayed on their intercoms.
